Makers Meet-Up Spring 2017 - The Highlights

We were blessed with Spring sunshine as dozens of Yumbles makers gathered together at the Health Foundry a moments walk from Westminster.

As is always the case at our meet-ups the buzz in the room was fantastic right from the start with producers meeting both new and familiar faces, discussing new collaborations and sharing tips and war stories.

For Team Yumbles the meet-ups are hands down our favourite times of the year.  Chance for us to get out from behind our laptops and catch-up in person with the heart and soul of our business - our talented makers.  We've come back to YumblesHQ once again buzzing with ideas and inspiration for the year ahead. We've also learnt that Yumbles co-founder Katie talks with her hands far too much...

Then it was time for the talks to kick off. Yumbles founder's Katie and Simos welcomed everyone and shared an update on how the Yumbles marketplace is doing and what's ahead.

Next up was Sarah Norris from Godminster who shared their incredible story and the key factors that have helped propel their success.  As is always the case with the Godminster team you get a real sense from hearing from Sarah of the passion at the heart of this great business.

When it comes to selling online the format you sell your produce in can change given differences in online buyer behaviour so Katie took the group through a range of formats that are particularly successful.

The final speaker was Lesley Bambridge the Founder of We Mean Business, London - Marketing Consultancy & Brand Storytelling Platform - Storyfied.  Lesley shared her top pointers for building a strong brand story - and why that matters particularly for food start-ups, drawn from her many years working with top brands.

Last slot was a Q&A panel made up of Simos, Yumbles founder, Lesley Bambridge and two experienced Yumbles makers - Pritesh Moody from World of Zing and Sanjay Aggarwal from Spice Kitchen for a fantastic set of discussions spanning branding and marketing, customer segmentation, product photography, the show circuit and more.  Next time we'll invest in extra tall stools - sorry Sanjay ;-)
